same here: g4 dual 1.42, PT 6.1, OS 10.2.8

Same bug here. But I remember it's always been this way.

To the best of my knowledge this is the expected behavior. I’ve had a chance to check it out on a few different versions dating back to 5.0 and the behavior has been the same on all. Any new fade or region created on or between muted regions will be active.

nevermind only adjacent regions...
ANY muted region that a fade is applied to renders an active fade. causing a nice vinyl'esque effect. This is a bug right? Does anyone consider this a feature? |

in the most immaculate sessions this might not be a problem. But after the 6th take is comp'd with the 3rd and 7th take with 70+ tracks and 20,000+ edits this is hardly a feature, I'd call it the mystery wisp and pop gererator, very effective it is indeed. I'd like to see it corrected or selectable as a preference, but who would ever want this option????

I'm going to bumb this thread until someone at digi gives a good reason for this bug that they are calling a feature. It is causing much undue busy work....

I agree it should be fixed-it is counterintuitive behavoir.

I also agree. I should be “changed”...
I also do not like the fact that inverse region muting is no longer working in PT6. In previous versions, if 7 out of 10 selected regions were muted and you applied command M to all of them, the ten regions would swap states to 7 unmuted 3 muted. dk
