I'm not following why you are asking here. You own the license now right? It is visible in your iLok license manager, so does it say if it is transferable or not? (in the upper panel/iLok.com part of the iLok License manager Window).

From what I understand, these can no longer be transferred unless they are being sold along with the original HD cards they were linked to. This limitation will mainly affect people in the last few years who bought the HD licenses on their own off Ebay, etc. Avid has always had the rule that the license should be linked to the hardware, but since PT11, they've started actually enforcing it.

Yes, all HD 9 and higher licenses now require Avid pre-approval before they can be transfered.

And from what I understand, they won't be approved unless they're being sold along with the original cards they were matched to, which limits it to people selling card and software together.
But you could always ask them. This would fall under registration/activation support, and there is no support code needed for that. |

wow
so now we are not allowed to recoup any cost from old software. this is a very negative step in the wrong direction. pro Tools just becomes more expensive to use on all fronts. just about every aspect of pro tools has become more expensive then just a few years ago. when native rigs do so much these days , if i started now would it even be worth the commitment of all these upgrades. could have have gotten a smoken native daw of anything else with lots of money left. sorry for whining here but i think this has gotten way out of control, i feel used and taken advantage of. |
