003 Drivers not installing

got ProTools 7.3.1cs7 installed on a new computer. My previous hardware was Mbox2.

When I go to run ProTools it does not recognize my 003 being plugged in.

I've check my Device Manager and it says the drivers have not been installed for the 003 Rack.

I thought maybe there was a driver conflict between the old MBox 2 drivers, so I uninstalled just the drivers and rebooted. Drivers gone and I can't find the correct drivers for the 003, even after trying to manually update the 003 Drivers, it cannot find the correct ones.

Technically the drivers from 7.3 should support the 003 correct? Where can I find the right ones if not?

I'm feeling your pain, technically 7.3.1 can support an 003 but you probably won't find the drivers on your MBox DVD. Ver8 may seem like a good hunk of change but there are so many extras since 7.3 that it could be the best $150 you could ever spend!

I understand there are little extras and plugins and what not, I'm not really interested in those.

I really just need to find the correct drivers, ideally without having to purchase a new version of PT.

There are a lot more than "little changes" how bout 48 tracks, Beat Detective, Elastic Audio, and a ton of new plugs and samples to mention a few! You work at a Pro Audio shop, you could probably get it for $100! Maybe I can send you the drivers for the 003, visit www.rickqueststudio.com and send me your email.

I noticed your PC is a Pentium?? I'm not real sure about how well PT8 would run on it??? Anyone else know or use PT8 on a Pentium???? If So,,,, +2 for PT8!

Yap, currently building a new computer, didn't quite have the funds to upgrade the processor yet. I'm close to getting a Intel 2 Quad methinks, checking out some other deals.

However, my guitar player buddy has Pentium D and it runs pretty smooth.

Your best bet would be to reload PT with the 003 hooked up.

thats what I did, i uninstalled pt completely, hooked up the 003, installed 7.0 then installed 7.3 and so forth, and the only thing it wouldn't bring over is the drivers. I even tried to do them manually by going to the direct folder that had the drivers and it said they weren't the right ones.
