Default Can i use together and how .....????

HI !

Im just a step to complete my 18 input i just only need a preamp with S/PDIF output and im going with Dbx 386 .
Here is the question :

Let me explain i have the octane 8 and when use it i have to cgange the clock soource to adat in hardware setup. But im gonna have the two at the same time . To use the Dbx S/PDIF outs i need to change the source clock or i leave it with the adat and use the two preamps without problem ???

Is this conecction just plug and play or do i need something else ??

Thanks !!!!!

You need to make sure you have one clock source for all the digital ins/outs. I can't visialize you chain by your post, but to have 18 ins/outs you need both SPDIF and ADAT (litepipes). In this case, your digidesign hardware must be the master clock and the other hardware need to be slaved to it.

Symptoms of a mis-clocked system are click as the hardware clocks get out of sync.
