Default PT6 & Midi Time Code

Can anyone generate stable consistent midi time code from PT6?

If so what machine, os version, pt6 version?

Digi cs says their machines do it but I have had no luck so far.

Thanks,
Jason

Yeah, I went ahead and replaced my midi timpiece MTP AV with Digi's MIDI I/O interface thinking that would solve my midi woes and still my HUI drops offline for no apparent reason. Have to do a full shutdown to get it back.

Obviously, there are unresolved issues at work here involving PT6 or OS X or both.

I've noticed the midi connection dying when using a plug-in the last couple of times. Perhaps there is a problem there...?

Mine stops with just one audio track, no plugins.

Hopefully 6.1 will help.

Do you use any other apps other than pt in osx with midi and does it work? That would help narrow it down to pt or osx.

No, sorry - PT is the only app I'm using with midi.

I'm really feeling as if it's an OS X Audio Midi Setup problem, since a shutdown fixes it.

Ok, I finally realized I can send time code from the mpc to protools and it works fine now.

Guess this is the way to do it until there is a fix.

Ok, I think I did what you said bzldzl, but if you could maybe email, or possiblly post the directions on how to do it, cause the problem with my situation is I can use my baby hui for a little time and then it seems like something heats up somewhere and the system level increases of little time till it tells me to increase my buffer size to fix the problem, and increasing doesn't improve. So I get about 20 to 30 min before it acts up, and all I have to do is relaunch protools to get more time, or take it out of the scenario in the periphals. Is anyone having a similar unpleasant experience.

I am not sure if we are going for the same results. In my case we are importing tracks from the mpc into pt a pass at a time, not doing anything beyond that. The songs are only about 3-5 min long.

I had the buffer thing come up once but went away and has not happened again so I am no help there.

As far as what I am doing it is just what is listed above.

Wish I could be more help.
