Pro Tools systems requirements and compatibility matrix,.. more important than with any other software you've ever used.

Find and read the Pro Tools documentation, or at least start by knowing what doc is available. All available online as PDF.

If you get stuck start at the "help us help you" link up the top of this DUC web page.

Lots of free tutorials on YouTube, some of them very good.

Systems optimization is important, in the Pro Tools Install Guide.

Pro Tools Reference Guide, PDF available online and it's installed with the software. Yes it's big. Worth at least skimming through and keep around to search if you get stuck.

Work out how to find the stuff I mention above, Google will get you there.

I'm not really liking the fact the vsts aren't supported.

Get VEPro and you can use all the VST you could ever want. Better yet, install on a slave and pre-load all your favorite patches ready for your disposable 24/7. For @$200 its a no brainer

Also I am new to Pro Tools as of 4 months ago after using Logic for a couple of years. I find Pro Tools more streamlined and efficient and less buggy than Logic. To me I like it better and I think the editing and mixing window is the best there is. BTW - The midi editing is just as good, or even better than Logic.

One quick tip - Use Window Configurations w/ Memory Locations to hide/show tracks as alternative to to using track folders (No track folders in Pro Tools at this time)
