Hi everyone.
First sorry for my bad english.
I've to say thanks to Avid for do this fantasting canghes in PT 10...... and for steal me more of 1.000 Euros
I recently upgrade from Pt 8 to Pt 10.3.3 . i work with OSX 10.6.8 v1.1
After the upgrade i open a session, i work for 2 hours and after i bouncing it.
The bouncing stopped and crashed PT during the bouncing.
After restarting system pro tools dont want open the project and it say to me : the document cannot be opened because it was created with an older version of pro tools

THNX AVID !!!!! Thanks !!! The people pay for get problems from you. i think after PT 7 you develop only donwgrade not upgrade ......

Can you open any of the backups in the Session Backups folder?

yes but i lost important session info and many hours of work.
Its totally unprofessional .... or not ?

The automated backups are made by default every 5 or 10 minutes (but you can change this value to your personal preference).

Sorry you are having troubles, but blaming Avid does no good. In the first place, if you have projects that are unfinished, you should NOT make changes to your system. You might also check the compatibility grid as Pro Tools 10 may require a newer version of OSX.

Did you have a backup plan? If yes, then use it, but I am guessing you did not have a plan. In this case, I have to jump up on my soap box and do a little preaching. Everybody NEEDS a backup plan. Mine is to save drive images, or to clone my working system drive to another drive, swap drives and update the clone. If I have any issues(as you are having), I can swap system drives and go back to the previous, WORKING setup.

Possible solutions:
create a new session and import session data from the old session.
Hold the SHIFT key while trying to open an old session(this will make all plugins inactive. If the session opens this way, then you have a bad plugin)
Did you update ALL of your plugins(you need to).
As suggested, try to open a session backup(in the session folder, there is a sub-folder called session backups. try some of those). Of course, that is assuming you had Auto-Backup enabled.

I always change this to keep the last 99 backups and save every 1 minute.
