Thanks for the clarification. The wording had me more than a little worried.

Still can't understand why there's two different versions of the email but anyway, as long as I'll still have the option to upgrade my ex-CPTK HD license after the 31st (should I so wish) it's all good & no reason for panic!

What both emails are trying to say is that there is a 12/31/2015 deadline to get on the Upgrade and Support Plan at current pricing (the amounts are different in the emails since they are in local currency).

$599USD for the Pro Tools HD Upgrade and Support Plan by 12/31/2015, $999USD for the Pro Tools HD Upgrade and Support Plan if you wait until after 12/31/2015.

OK Thanks, everything after your first sentence is crystal clear, AND you've reassured us that there is no plot to prevent current 11HD owners from upgrading to 12HD. It's just what we already knew .... it'll cost more to upgrade come January 2016.

I just don't quite get what the email was trying say ... my understanding was that, for quite a few months already, ALL PT12HD upgrades came automatically with a support plan.

I remember that early upgraders, and sone people who bought PT12 with hardware early on, difn't get support plans initially, and were required to buy support plans as an extra.

But I also read somwhere in the DUC that over the summer, all 12HD owners who didn't have a support plan were just given one.

If that's true, and if all upgrades to 12HD since that time have come with a support plan, then standalone upgrades have already ceased to exist and December 31st is irrelevant to that.

This is what is confusing ... saying something is ending when it has already ended as far as we inow. And that's what makes people nervous, because since the PT12 announcement there have been a number of confusing (mis)communications, occasionally with unexpected, disappointing and frustrating outcomes (think lower price upgrade only plans that initially didn't come with bundled 10/11 licenses to go with the 12 license, think about people not receiving recent versions of 11 and 12 if they don't have a support plan, etc. etc.)

HD 11 works fine with my mBox Pro (3rd and latests generation). Does that mean that HD 12 will not work with my mBox Pro anymore?

No, it will work fine with the Mbox. It means it doesn't support the older HD Accel TDM PCIe & PCI.

Avid should really get someone who know how to word stuff on their team. These type of sentences makes everyone confused and just adds to the headache now that the 31st is coming at us like a bat out of hell
