What Mac to choose for HDX?
Hi,
Shall I go with the new Mac Pro One 3.2Ghz Quad-Core 6 GB or a used Dual Quad-Core Intel Xeon 2,4Ghz model 5.1 Mid 2010? Actually the same price for both but can you tell me wish one to take? Cheers |

Re: What Mac to choose for HDX?
Wolfgang,
I know but I´ve been waiting all to long already since the trade in of my HD3 that I´m actually beginning to regret. It worked perfect and from what I heard it´s more than people say about HDX 10.2........or? Had an idea of going MBP with Magma or Sonnet but that´s does´nt seem to be the solution from what I heard. Cheers |

Re: What Mac to choose for HDX?
So am I. I agree with Wolfgang, though...wait for the 2013 MacPRO. :) And I agree with Wolfgang on his second statement, too.

Re: What Mac to choose for HDX?
I have a 8 core heres the exact specs
Processor 2 x 2.4 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon , 20 gig ram. I find this to be a very usable cpu. Fast enough to get the job done . Dont waist your money on a quad core I can't how many times I was glad I sprung for the 8 core. Quad core will disappoint for sure , sooner than later. |

Re: What Mac to choose for HDX?
I got a used MacPro 8 core with 16 GB RAM for about $2,000.00
It gets the job done.

Re: What Mac to choose for HDX?
I just picked up a refurbished Quad Core. At the Mac Store for $2300 including tax/shipping and 3 year warranty.
I tried to buy a used Quad core from eBay, but 2 RAM slots went bad right away and I sent it back. Then I was kind of scared to buy from eBay again. I ended up buying 16Gigs of RAM from OWC as well as a SSD for the boot drive.
