Default Quicktime Stutter

Like many of you, I assume that you're living with this problem as well. The audio stutter from Quicktime movie playback can be horrendous. I search on it every few months, and discover it's in every community and every platform.

I read a post where a fellow listened to his MOBO's audio out and QT didn't stutter. Ridiculous, I thought. Stuck my headphones into the MOBO jack and there was smooth playback. Incredible.

Ran a cable to my alt-source inputs and hit the alt src to mon button. Now if I have to deal with MOV files, at least I can hear the finished product w/o rage or play it for someone w/o incredible embarrasment.

Is this a clue for any genuises to help solve the problem?
Thanks,
Greg

Actually, exactly what you did! Welcome to the ranks of geniuses!!!!!
There's a "known issue" between PT and Quicktime/I-tunes, has been for YEARS.
But no "known solution!"
So your solution is the preferred one.

Well thanks for the invite!! In my searching, I actually ran across a post I made in 2005 when I thought I had been laden with the final straw. Hah!

I have no doubt whatsoever that the problem is insoluble. Still, I am thrilled to have a workaround.
