video dropped frames in capture re-re-re visited
Dropped frames on video capture. The age old topic.
I am now using a fuse card on one system (733) and a dc-30 on another (466). The usual setups -- premiere as the capture tool. I've tweaked and tweaked the settings and capture method and created special extension sets, etc. A lot of it is probably voodoo, but while dropped frames in capture are less frequent -- they still happen on both systems -- enough to be annoying (one or two frames over a 50 minute program). And deadlines are tight enough that re-digitizing is neither possible, nor a promise that it won't drop a frame or two on the second try. So -- any new developments / thoughts on setup to elimintate the nagging dropped frame on capture issue?

Make sure Apple Talk is off when capturing. I know it sounds crazy
but that was the culprit for me. Also, on the Fuse make sure you have driver ver 2.0.2.

Re: video dropped frames in capture re-re-re visited
thanks for the tips -- I 'm using 2.02 for the fuse and I have a special extension set for video capture that disables all communication including the appletalk and ethernet items.
