Xpand does not show up in the list

I freshly installed xpand on my laptop (the PPC version of the CD on my Intel MacBook Pro). and then ran the updater which appeared to be working (the file has the correct version number and i didnt get any errors).

however, the plugin does not show up in the list (it is a fresh OS and PT M-Powered installation).

all the files seem to be there and it does show up in the splash screen so i guess it gets loaded. but i get no error whatsoever. any hints on how to troubleshoot this? I ran out of explanations and options. re-installed several times, re-booted as well (after reading the magical updates after rebooting )

I don't know what could be wrong and i tried everything i could find on the support pages.

any ideas?

1) Do you see any other choices in the Instrument section of an Insert on an Instrument, Aux, or Audio Track? (It would be in the "multi-channel" section with a stereo track.)

2) Please double check the version of Xpand!.dpm in the following location:
Macintosh HD > Library > Application Support > Digidesign > Plug-Ins
