It doesn't state anything you get with paying to update to v5.4
I agree that their messaging is very unclear. But since the upgrade price from LittlePlate, the price to add SuperPlate to EffectsRack, and the price to upgrade from 5.3 to 5.4, are exactly the same, I think it's a good bet that it will be included in 5.4.

That info is taken from the SuperPlate product announcement page.

It also states this just above the pricing.

Now with the new SuperPlate reverb, Soundtoys 5.4 bundle allows for even more power to create complex soundscapes, unique textures, and dynamic sonic movements. The limitless versatility of this proven, world-class plug-in bundle unleashes the creative potential to enhance or transform any audio project – and version 5.4 is the strongest yet.

I think it’s pretty clear.

EDIT: According to THIS Avid page, Sound Toys AAX are already Apple Silicon Native, but I can't find any mention of that on Sound Toys's site.

I can confirm, I've been using Soundtoys native AAX for months. They released a beta right around when 2022.12 dropped, and a final version I think a day after 2023.3 dropped. Just log into your account and grab the latest installer.

Honestly, I don't understand how companies (like SoundToys and Valhalla) *can* provide so many years of free updates. I've had Valhalla Vintage Verb since 2013, and he's been *adding* new reverb modes the whole time, for free. I've had EchoBoy since 2013, and the full Soundtoys bundle since 2015, and have always had a current version (though no new features, which is ok).

I never had a problem with the Waves Update Plan for this reason ~ when I needed an update — for Silicon compatibility, for example — I'd pay for it, and when i didn't, I wouldn't. Most years I wouldn't, but when I did I felt it was fair.

This is one reason I'm actually excited to buy the new Soundtoys reverb, to support the company after so many years!

Agreed. Almost seems as though software isn't their sole source of income. How could it be?

Drug cartel?

It’s just a money laundering operation.

Seems like a convoluted process – could it possibly be:
Sell drugs and plug-ins to buy beer?

SoundToys made some of my favorite plugins and the updates are free. I don't need this plug-in, but I'm happy to give them a few bucks just because of their awesome products/support.
