And now, if I put the Process card in, and hook the interface to it, it works.
It’s like the slot order is backwards on this computer!
In system usage, it’s showing everything backwards.
But in DigiTest, it shows in the correct order!
I have two of these computers and the same thing happens.

My next test is reverse all the cards and see if it will all still works!

You have ribbon cables connected the wrong way. Without reading the manual the intuitive way would be connecting core card A to accel card B, but it is the other way around. A is input and B is output, and don't ask me why the cards don't read in and out. So, core B to accel A and accel B to process A

That did it, apparently there is a reversal of slot order allocation in Pro Tools 8.
Putting the cards in reverse order makes the system function normally.
DigiTest passes, just looks weird being backwards.
System usage window shows everything in proper order.
I can’t be the only one who’s figured this out the hard way.

But it works. There is no other way with this setup.
PT 8 supported PPC mac, and I’m putting it in to one!
Obviously the ribbon connectors are pass-thru.
Or possibly I have a Mac and HD cards that are from a reversed alternate reality!

Yes, if you have ribbons reversed, then the "first" card would be "last" that you would expect.

Yes, a simple IN / OUT would help.
I sure I’m not the only newb with HD that’s done this!
The ribbons I have are trained that way when I got them.

Oh! I see said the blind man! Got it!
Apparently the person that had these cards before me was making the same mistake!
Ok then, I’ll put it together that way!
Thanks

Really appreciate the help JFreak! That was it!
It’s really confusing when the plugs are lettered A for in and B for out.
I just assumed that the first plug would be “A” then to “B”.
And since my ribbon cables were perfectly formed to do just that, I automatically just went with it.

No problem. Note to Avid: next time you design a confusion like this, there would be easy way out.
