Digi - QuickTime Updates including 7.6?

Looking at the Technical Alerts, and the Stickies on this forum, there's no real mention of the last several Quicktime versions.

Always wait for the newest OS X to be qualified by Digi, which it looks like 10.5.6 is now - but I never know, if, and when to do the Quicktime updates. I remember a few years ago, a QT update Killed Pro-Tools. I don't want to deal with that, and am in no "Hurry" to update my Quicktime, but Digi doesn't seem to Mention it, or Qualify it separately, and as an owner of Quicktime Pro, I'd like to update it "Sometime"

I've read a few things on here, with folks having problems with Pro-Tools on their system after the QT 7.6 Update, but there's no Technical alert about it.

What does Digi recommend, regarding QuickTime updates, and have you been receiving reports on this 7.6 update, being incompatible with Pro-Tools 8.0cs1 ?

I've also been waiting to get the official word or at least some unofficial feedback about QT 7.6. Anyone?

This would be helpful to know as the Leopard OS seems to need some things with QT 7.6. There seems to be some bugginess with audio via core audio HD and apps like QT and iTunes. The new one is I can't audition files in Finder (just off the mac speaker) if i've chosen HD as the audio output. I am seeing this weirdness on 2 out of 3 HD rigs here running 8 (and only sometimes - this is different from the known QT bug where your audio won't connect unless you switch it in system pref's during playback, that one is still alive and well on our 4th HD system) - note that neither of our 5.1.1 systems in 9 has none of these problems!

I've done all the latest round of updates and everything seems to be just fine.
