Pro Tools Standard & Hybrid Engine?

Hi everyone.

Currently running Pro Tools Standard and have been reading about the Hybrid Engine to increase performance.

My system is currently starting to struggle as well as being a bit older - trying to figure out my options to improve my system.

From what I have read... it would appear that I would need either an HDX card or the Avid Carbon interface to take advantage of the Hybrid engine.

Does this mean that I would also need to upgrade from Pro Tools Standard to Pro Tools Ultimate?

Would I have any other options besides the 2 mentioned above to increase performance?

My current system is:

Pro Tools 2020.12.0
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)
2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Mojave

Yes you would need HDX or Carbon.
You will also need Ultimate.

Carbon uses regular Pro Tools (by default) but can also use Ultimate.

That makes it a little odd that you need Ultimate for anything else. (Seems like a restriction that should be lifted)
