Default Can't hear vocals during recording

When I had an mbox, I could hear myself while I was in the midst of recording. But now I have an m-audio firewire solo with pt8 and I can't hear my vocals during the recording. I hear them on playback, but not while i'm actually recording it. (hope I'm describing this right)...HELP!

imac intel 2ghz core 2duo
2 gig ram
pt 8
m-audio firewire solo

ok, i'll check on that. also, to be more clear....I can't hear myself IN MY HEADPHONES while recording. you know..."Mic check, mic check, 1, 2"...Only thing I hear is what was previously recorded. Not what I'm currently recording.

Be sure you have the correct settings in the m-audio mixer. You want the inputs going straight to the outputs.

The solo has the simplest mixer of them all so it should be a breeze.
