Default PTLE wont recognize my midi controller...help!

i am using the emu xboard 61 and it is working 100% fine with other programs like reason, etc...
i would like to use it in ptle 6.4 but when i go to the midi controllers tab in the peripherals setup, there is nothing in the drop down list.

strangely enough, when i go to the machine control tab, under the midi machine control heading, the xboard shows up in that drop down menu.

does anyone know what i need to do to get PT to let me use my controller? thanks.

Yes.

But there seems to be some confusion with your post. You're talking about using the MIDI controller, but then you mention going to the peripherals menu. The peripherals menu is for using MIDI Control Surfaces, not just MIDI controller.

If you are just trying to record MIDI notes (MIDI controller), all you need to do is select your controller on the MIDI input selector on a MIDI or Instrument track.

If you are legitimately trying to use it to control the transport and faders of Pro Tools (MIDI Control Surface), then you will need to reprogram the unit to function like the JL Cooper CS-10 interface (how to do that is covered on page 77 of the MIDI Control Surfaces Guide). After reprogramming it, you will need to download and install the Legacy MIDI controller profile for your version of Pro Tools. Then you select the cs-10 on the peripherals/MIDI controllers dialog, and then set it to the ports/channels that you are using for that controller.
