buzz when internal audio out is used
I have a G4 2x800 machine with digi001. If I take the audio out on the Macintosh and hook that up to a receiver when the digi001 out is also hooked up to that receiver, I get a nasty ticking buzzing noise. If I remove either the digi001 or the Mac audio from the receiver, it stops. If I run the Mac audio into the digi001, I also get the noise. I recorded it to see if anyone can recognize what is going on.
Thanks for any ideas! Here is the URL (800k file) http://www.etext.org/~pauls/noise.aif |

Re: buzz when internal audio out is used
This is a known issue, and it's on Apple's knowledgebase. It's already been covered on this forum.
Here's the link: http://duc.digidesign.com/cgi-bin/ub...;f=24;t=020444 The solution is a bit of hardware called a "ground loop isolator" - available form car audio dealers, and Maplin's sell them for about £8. Tim |
