is midi quantizing accurate with labtop
I am not very good with midi yet but it seems that no matter what I do to get my midi quantized it never seems to really sound on beat. The little human variables of my human playing doesn't seem to sound accurate when I quantize. Can someone give me some hints. I did update to 6.7 but I dont think thats the issue. or is it that I am hearing a lantency but it is on beat. the click track from the plug in that I am playing to should still track right on beat once I quantize should'nt it. ?

Re: is midi quantizing accurate with labtop
the midi quantize function has some parameters that could allow you to quantize loosely, and thus sound "wrong".
if you are looking for a supr tight quantize you will need to adjust to fit. 16ths and 100% are usually is enough to get drums sounding like clockwork, if that's what you want. for dance music, i usually make the kick drum sound 100% tight but introduce a variation for other percussion, such as shakers & bongo's of 10 or 20 per cent. take the click track out... does it still sound wrong? it depends on what you played in the 1st place too. maybe you're the worst keyboard player in the world? regards.
