I was filing a support request about monterey and it closed by it's self and when I went back to the case to open a new one 2021.10 and monterey were now an option in the OS selection window... hmmm

Pretty sure they are working on Monterey compatability so that the new MacBookPro's will be working. Native Apple Silicone would be useless right now since barely any of the 3rd party plug-in devs will be ready. Same problem with LogicPro. Its runs Native but a lot of plug-ins are not native yet so you have to run Logic in Rosetta2.

It is not useless, but some surprises may surface

Chicken and egg.

Where’s the developer incentive if the DAW isn’t ready?

Eventide just released Apple Silicon native plugins, maybe incentive is to keep up good publicity?

It is a little different with LogicPro, in that you actually don't have to run it in Rosetta natively. The plugin layer will itself, adopt Rosetta if it needs to.

I know they are working on Monterey compatibility, but I would not expect to see it until early next year. Some other things I can't share now, but Atmos is on the list as a priority.

Stay tuned,

G

On paper, yes. In practice not so much. Every 3rd party plug-in that is not native silicone yet suggests to run Logic in Rosetta2.

So no compatibility with new Apple laptops then. That sucks. And what good is Atmos (a film and post standard) if you can’t run video
