Default Getting Orig Mbox to Run on PowerBook G4

I have a powerbook g4 running mac osx 10.5.6 and I have the original Mbox with the Pro Tools LE 6.1.2 CD.
I read the compatibility chart but I don't understand it. For 6.1.2 it points to
Jaguar 10.2
Does this mean I need to downgrade the computer to this OS to make it run? Thanks.

I'd say your best bet for Stability and performance on that computer, would be to install Tiger 10.4.11 and Pro-Tools 7.4 and the cs10 update, and version lock that system, for OS X and Pro-Tools.

Leopard, and the last supported PT for PPC have some serious RTAS issues, that are "Suspended" in those versions, as they're all being worked out, and showing improvement in the 8.0.3pr versions for 10.6.x

Tiger in general will run better on that G4 then Leo.

I think I'm just going to give up on using this old mbox. If I go down to that version of OS you mentioned (which I have to purchase) I can no longer use garageband, and I don't want to sacrifice being able to use pro tools but not garageband.
I'll prob just upgrade at some point to a brand new pro tools system, and get a computer that will be bought only for pro tools....

there is a version of PT7.4 that can run on leopard.
But since you have to pay for the upgrade anyway you can as well get something new.
