Default spot dialog?

whenever i try to use the hand tool or the trim tool, instead of letting me move or trim a region, i get a bog that says "spot dialog". what is this? i know theres probably one thing i need to click somewhere, but how do i get out of this mode?

Default Re: spot dialog?

Means you are in Spot Edit Mode. Look up 'Edit Modes' in the Reference Guide.
