Default SPDIF out on 002R not working!

I have experienced this problem on two separate systems in two different locations. Both systems are running PT 10.0.1 on Mac OS 10.7.3 with an 002 Rack connected as the interface. One of these systems is at home, the other is at work.....

When mixing, I monitor through a Dangerous d-Box (in both locations as well) via the spdif out of the 002 into the digital in on the d-box. on both systems it worked flawlessly for about two months then poof! No more output from the spdif.

My first thought was I damaged the spdif out on 002 cause I actually made a cable that has spdif RCA on one end to AES xlr on the other. I was sure to use 75ohm cable!

So I am stumped. Why would this work fine then suddenly stop working....it is really cramping my workflow right now!!

Anybody have any insight??? I just want the damn spdif output back!!

In hardware setup, make sure the optical format is set to ADAT and not S/PDIF. When the optical ports are set to S/PDIF, the coaxial jacks are rendered inert.

I am curious as to how you got your 002r to work with your PT 10? I can't seem to get mine to even see it. Any help would be appreciated. Good luck with your SPDIF problem.

Jimmy you have done it!!! I feel like an idiot....I am a professional Pro Tools user, use it everyday, and I did not think of this! Been racking my brain for days, and the answer was in a stupid hardware setup pref!

Thank you a ton for getting me mixing in my usual workflow again! In case your curious, I take analog out 1-8 of my BLA modded 002 into the summing section of my D-Box. From there I print mixes back in PT while monitoring via spdif. In between I run the sum out through an API 2500. As analog as I can get given my budget!

First you need the drivers for 002. You can find them here:
http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/e...n&DocType=1450

Scroll about a 3rd down the page to find 002, mbox, etc driver download links.

If you have these installed, PT should find it on your system. Try holding down the "N" key while booting pro tools. This will open the playback engine dialog window and you should be able to select 002 from the drop down menu.

According to avid, the 002 is supported for PT10. However, avid is officially saying that it will be the last version they release drivers for. When PT11 comes out next year, we are all going to have to buy new hardware apparently!
