Wavelab
There is a one second delay during playback and record in Wavelab 3.0 when used with the Digi 001...Before I had the Digi 001 and Protools it worked great, I was just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem? Let me know if you have any suggestions...Thanks....

I'm sure Digidesign would say its a software flaw in Wavelab and Steinberg would say its a hardware flaw in the digidesign pci card. I just live with it.

Re: Wavelab
It's actually a buffer size issue. The Dig001 requires an audio buffer for any app. You can set the buffer smaller and thus make the latency a little better. To do this, go to Start>Settings>Control Panel, double-click Multimedia. Go to Devices tab. Expand "Audio Devices". Select "Audio for Digidesign Multimedia Devices" and click Properties. Click Settings, then set the buffer size to Small. Close out all the dialogs, restart, and presto! a smaller buffer size! I actually even got pretty decent latency out of Reason with this trick.

I dont get a 1 second delay, but it has a slight delay before playback or recording. I used to run wavelab with a card d+ and it worked perfectly with that. I see that a full second delay would be really annoying, but I can live with the slight delay that I have for now.

Re: Wavelab
I have a MAudio Audiophile 24/96 that works well in the system and there is no time delay so I will just use it for Wavelab and Digi 001 for ProTools...Thanks for your replies...

Re: Wavelab
I just noticed this. You can also adjust your buffer settings within wavelab. go to "preferences", then "audio card" You can adjust the buffer amount and size. it even tells you how much latency you will have. if you set everything as small as it can go the latency is 34 m/s.
I usually record and playback in 24 bit mode. Before adjusting the buffer size I was able to play 16 bit files in the 24 bit playback mode, but with the buffers this small you will need to playback 16 bit files in 16 bit playback mode or they sound strange. I haven't played around with this too much yet and I get no help from the wavelab help files. Hope it helps.
