Unhappy Importing D-Control Snapshots

Hi,

i have been working on a session and i have captured a few snapshots of my plugin automations etc on the D-control.
Now if i want to import these snapshots into another protools sessions and use them... is it possible? if so then how i do i go about doing it?

I see when when i import file session data there is an option to import icon snapshots but i dont want to import any of the audio/video content of that session. And when i dont import playlists and import just the icon snapshots - nothing happens.

Any ideas guys?

Thanks

Naimat S. Ahmed

Same problem here. Tried all different kind of session-imports but non of them gives me the snapshot's !?!?!?!
Is nobody using this function or doesn't it work ?

As a workaround I have a basic template with all tracks that I ever can/will use in Inactive mode.
You have to make those tracks Active ( change your voice settings in the Playback Engine to maximum voice setting to allow all tracks to be active)
Make one big group of all the tracks and activated that group. (All group)
Now make snapshots for the total group, let's say at 0dB, -5dB,-10dB etc

After preparing all the snapshots make all the tracks again Inactive and change your Playback Engine to your system needs.

Now start up every new session from the template, just make the tracks active that you gonna use and hide the Inactive tracks.
Select the Active tracks and make a group out of them called Totall Session

With punch snapshots you can now do a write to all tracks or, with SHIFT/OPTION, just write to selected tracks.
If you make a (region)selection the automation will just be on that specific (region)selection.

For me a very handy way of working, so maybe this suites you also.

Grz,

Louis

Importing snapshots does work here. You have to import what the pic shows below, and match the track(s). "Audio 1" in this case is a track I created in a new session to test this, and "Masquerade m rap" is a session where I've captured and stored some snapshots for the SSL E-Channel.

After I've created "Audio 1" in the new session I import session data like the pic shows.

We tried all of this but without any result !?!?!? We are on Protools 8.0.3 and OSX 10.6.2

To be clear, we just want to import the snapshots, like you can import markers etc.
So not together with audio from the Import Session. I think it's a Protools 8.0.3 bug on the D-Control but would want to know for sure.

Are you on PC or/and can you explain more clear how you make use of this function.

Grz,

Louis

You don't have to import media even if you match tracks. I didn't.

That's why I'll shut up now...

Hi

You must be in record automation mode on tracks to dispose of snap shot fonction.

I know you have to be in record automation mode to use the Punch Snapshot function.

The problem is that the snapshot's just don't import to the snapshot soft page.
They stay empty, so no function at all. So there is nothing to Punch...

I can't help myself.

Are you saying that importing snapshots used to work before the last update, or that it never has worked?
