Default A Workaround to Edit Frozen Files

I would prefer to unfreeze then edit, then freeze again. But this is a quick workaround to edit frozen files I saw on youtube. Nothing too special but it gets the job done.

Default Re: A Workaround to Edit Frozen Files

Just Commit your frozen track. It's a faster workflow(Alt+Shift+C) and not as risky with your session management. Committing the frozen track puts the audio in the Audio Files folder as opposed to working with the audio directly out of the Rendered Audio Files folder when you drag them back in. If for any reason that source clip dragged in that remains in the Rendered Files Folder goes missing, then your session will be royally messed up. It's a cool tip, but has some risks and potential issues associated with it in my honest opinion.

As for allowing us to edit frozen tracks directly, that gets a +1 from me also. I hope it happens in a future release.
