Default Using Delta 1010 to run outboard gear for mixdown

Before I begin, I am fairly new to Pro-Tools and for that matter DAW's in general. My partners and I have been recording to an HD24 with actual outboard gear forever. Just recently we purchased M-Powered 7 and as one would assume, we are very comfortable in the real, hands on the dial environment. As we are warming up to the all digital world we are finding things to be true that we once thought to be impossible. However, one of the things that we miss is the ability to run through some of our older gear. This leads me to five questions. First, is it possible to use my Delta 1010 as an effects send and return to bridge my delays, etc? Second, if this is possible, are there latency issues to contend with? Third, although I understand that multiple cards are not officially supported, if using the 1010 in this manner is possible, has anyone had any luck using multiple cards for this purpose? From what I understand, HD works in this manner, however I don't have HD and probably won't for some time. Also, if this is not possible, are there any other possibilities? Fifth and final question, will the 1010 work as a channel insert in real time? Thanks.......
