I've seen a bunch of other Looping questions - tried a few things but none that seem to nail it. I loved Elastic audio - got the loop to line up perfectly - or so I thought.
I'm going back to the original audio and try Beat Detective instead. fer now.

I ended up cutting and pasting the warped audio after stretching/syncing it to a grid - 6 minutes in perfect time - but it didn't like my handmade crossfade's; I guess warped audio acts differently? (i'm grasping) but I can't hear the forest 'for the scissors anyway - and it sounds fine after adding everything else - and most importantly it keeps time!
and no,
this may not be the way it 'should' be done - but we give thanks and move on.

Lets back up a couple of steps, when you select the region and right-click and select EA Properties did you conform the length of the region to four or eight bars?

not sure what EA properties is; Mac has no right click. I'm using PT8.01.
So, when I select Region -then Loop - a box appears: # of loops/ Loop length/ Loop until end etc/enable crossfade w/ settings. The loop is exactly 4/0 ; in Bars/Beats mode. should be a slam dunk.
yet it goes off on the very first loop when i set '# of times' to 2 -just to check it.

Option+5 - Elastic Properties. Source Length (Tick-Based Track) did that display an exact four or eight bar length?

too late for a quick reply; thanks for stickin w/ me but if ya give up on this thread, i understand. I been too busy tracking the song w/ the aforementioned 'handmade' pasting that took all of 3 minutes to make, albeit w/ no crossfades that worked. Still, it baffles me & would rather have it done right and learn somethin. So..getting into Elastic properties did not reveal the regions length! only: TCE factor, event, input, etc. In the region area, it shows a little clock icon, and the file name.

I suggest you spend a little time understanding Elastic Audio and it's benefits. DTV has some great videos covering this subject.
