Default Macbook Pro (Intel) OSX 10.4.11 USB PROBLEMS!

Hey everyone,

I tried searching for a similar post to avoid having to post my own but I couldn't find one.

I bought a macbook pro new, and in the specs it says it comes with three USB 2.0 ports.

Now what's frustrating me is, everytime I try to use my Mbox 2 in two of the ports, it comes up with
the message "USB Audio is not capable bla bla ... up your buffer size or remove plug-ins". Now I know that it isn't a software compatibility issue or anything because the same thing happens when I'm playing records with Rane's Serato Scratch, it's acting as if the two ports are slower than the others , and in fact I can't even use them because there's horrible audible spikes that occur (with serato scratch).

The one USB port that has worked with no problems at all is on the left side and closest to me.

The reason I bought a [bleep] mac (excuse my language) is because I was sick of having to constantly fix my PC just so i could use it for a while. Now that I have a mac , I can't even use two of my USB ports!

I have the 3 year warranty, so I should be able to have it fixed... but sending away my computer for who knows how many ridiculous weeks it would take always makes me feel uneasy.

HAS ANYONE RAN INTO THIS PROBLEM AND IS THERE SOME QUICK FIX?

thankyou for reading, I appreciate it.
derek
