nasty metallic sound on mixdown problem

has anybody ever had a nasty "metallic ring modulation" type sounds in their mixes?

i get this when i bounce down internally in pro tools 5.3 with my 002. the sound is not there when i'm monitoring the tracks before the bounce, but when it appears everytime i do a mix via bounce.

any help is appreciated!

I have had a similar problem when bouncing dry voice to mp3's. I fixed it by selecting "Variable bit rate" instead of "Constant bit rate" in the bounce options.

Don't know if we are talking about the same thing but my MP3's were sounding very worbley/metallic on the high end. Almost like that crappy sound that Real Audio files have. Doing the above fix corrected it.
