<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">you should get better results with your OS and programs on one drive, and another drive dedicated for audio.

Yes that characterizes all I was saying Quite well actually. Also I was wondering about the type hard drive speed.

We have the Same board so we can work on it together.

I will let you know about anything else.

21 tracks is not out of line for a P4 1.6 with PC133 memory. That's about all you'll get with that setup.

I get 23 tracks with my P4 1.7 with DDR memory.

Motherboard: Asus P4B266
CPU: Intel P4 1.7GHz (retail boxed)
RAM: 256MB PC2100 266MHz DDR
Video: ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon 32MB DDR OEM (Driver Ver. 4.13.9016)
ATA-66: on-board Intel chipset ATA-66/100
Promise ATA-66 PCI (PCI slot 6)
Audio: Creative SB Live! Value (PCI slot 2)
Digidesign 001 (PCI slot 4)
on-board 6 channel (disabled)
Modem: Creative Modem Blaster Flash 56 Voice (PCI slot 3)
NIC: SMC Easy Card 10/100 PCI (PCI slot 5)
Hard Drives: Maxtor 6 L040J2 - 7200 RPM - UDMA 100 - 40GB - System (master on Promise ch1)
Maxtor 5 T060H6 - 7200 RPM - UDMA 100 - 60GB - Audio (master on Promise ch2)
Other Drives: 3 1/2" Floppy
Zip 250 IDE (slave on on-board ch1)
HP CD-Writer+ 9100 (master on on-board ch2)
Toshiba DVD-ROM SD-M1612 (master on on-board ch1)
Removable IDE hard drive bay (slave on on-board ch2)
Ports: Com1, Com2 (disabled), ECP Parallel
on-board USB 1.1 (disabled)
on-board USB 2.0 (disabled)
Adaptec Duo Connect USB2.0/Firewire (PCI slot 1)
Power Supply: Enermax 350W ATX dual fan
Case Fan: Bottom Front

I'm curious what I would get with a new Northwood P4 on the new 533MHz memory bus.

Mike
