Default MC Control and Pro Tools 9 Questions/Poll

Hello!

I'm considering purchasing an MC Control and had a few questions:

The Soft Keys Touchscreen section:

1. Can the individual Automation Parameters (Plug-In, Volume, Mute, etc. from the Command+4 Window) be assigned?

2. Is it possible to toggle/switch the tracks' Automation modes from the touchscreen for specific tracks?

3. Any ICON/D-Command similarities programmable? Auto-match, Custom Fader Groups, Automation Modes, Auto-Suspend?

The Mixer Section:

4. Can I click on a track in Pro Tools and have the track "Selected" on the MC Control and appear in the same position in the fader bank? Similar to the Control+Shift+clicking or "Scroll Into View"?

I apologize for the noobie questions, I've read conflicting posts about the latest firmware upgrades and lack of features.

Thanks!

1. Yes, but not the Auto Join, Auto Match, Preview or Capture, or Punch Preview or Punch Capture.

2. No.

3. I don't thank any of these are available.

4. No. But Control+Shift+clicking or "Scroll Into View" do work for what you want.

Thanks Zounds!

About #2....So, the only way to switch between a track's Automation mode is with the mouse on screen in Pro Tools?

No, you can use SHIFT+REC/ARM button on each fader strip to do it.

Also, global AUTO SUSPEND is available from the Soft Keys.

Oh, and you can easily mimic Custom Fader functionality using Show/Hide Memory Locations...

You can auto suspend from the touch screen, as well as enable or disable individual auto types (volume, pan, plugin, etc). All the write to and write to on stop commands are available, as is the copy to sends.

Thank you James!

I assume this is all under the Pro Tools 9 and EuCon protocol right...not HUI? I am a PT9 HD user and this new info you sited VASTLY changes my interest in the artist series.

Oh, finally are these functions available in both the v1 and v2 of the MC Control?

Thanks again!

The functionality is the same between v1 and v2, it's purely hardware differences - new knobs and better screen and jogwheel... (at a higher price)

They are definitely available in Eucon w/ ProTools 9. I can't say as far as HUI is concerned.
