Default Is it just my computer?

I've installed PT 6.1 on its own user with admin rights along with reason. I'm running a session with reason. three midi tracks and two audio tracks. I can't get it to play all the way back without an error. i've increased my hardware buffer to 1028 my CPU usage doesnt seem to go over 60% and it still comes to a dead hault. the only thing i can think of is that i'm running on a single processor, and rewire is what is bogging the system down. but still three midi tracks and 2 audio tracks? if i have to buy a duel processor mac i will but if you guys can offer any insight it would be appreciated.

Are you recording onto your startup or application drive? Sounds to me like you are. Try an external drive or separate internal drive to record/edit on.

Don't forget what a hog Pro Tools is. You really shouldn't have to buy a new computer to make something work.

If I can do wonders with my Yikes! 400MHz I can imagine what I could do more with a GHz!

Twice and a half the "power" I have now!

And now if you'll excuse me, I am now stuck in a dream...!!!...Twice and a half the "power"!...

Ok, that's it, I have to write something about that!

Lucky, I'm recording to a separate firewire drive. the other day i went back and disabeled all the audio tracks and the midi played back with out any issue. I also noticed that the cpu usage on the reason window was nothing, i don't know if this is because it is in slave mode or not. either way it seems i can only run midi or audio one at a time or I have issues. I also did most of the digi troubleshooting steps and still nothing. anymore input would be great.

thanx,

Brian
