Default \"audio volume\"? Can\'t record to system hard drive?

Hello friends:

Here is my specs, please see if there is something that I am missing:
Macbook Pro
2.4 ghz
10.4.9 (with the updated service pack from apple)
Pro Tools 6.9.2

Okay, I've got everything loaded up on a laptop bt when I try and start new session, I cannot create a new file folder on the system drive (the only hard drive on this laptop) so I can record a new song. it says that I need to put the file on an "audio volume". Can I not record to my main system hard drive? The quick-guide book says that I can, though it is not reccomended. However, at this point is it all that I've got to use... no external hard drive for some time (right now I'm just trying to set up a mobile recording rig.) Can you point me in the right direction? What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

-jon

Thanks fgor pointing me in the right direction! So, I won't be able to use it on my computer unless I upgrade to Pro Tools 7.1? that's kind of a bummer.
