Angry mbp 7,1 core duo 10.6.4 pt le 8.0.4cs2 002r

hi everyone, brand new macbook pro, model identifier 7,1 2.4 GHz intel core 2 duo, 4gb ram. 250HD Running pro tools le 8.0.4cs2 (trying to rather) I've done several reinstalls of osx as well as pro tools, both trying 10.6.3 as well as 10.6.4, same thing for pro tools, 8.0.3 as well as 8.0.4. and necessary cs updates. recording to an external Iomega (mac mini style enclosure) as well as my western digital drive that I have had NO problems with EVER

osx combo updates we're downloaded ONLY from the link provided by digi. I'm aware of apple's mid 2010 firmware lock on new apple products, still tried to boot off of external running 10.5.8 out of humor, fail. Also deleted every plug in not included in any of the pro tools installs or updates, crashes during playback, I've recieved a DAE error 10 about twice, as well as the typical "audio driver in use by another program" has anyone had any configuration luck? I've done every system preference change recommended by pro tools, as I've been using pro tools 8 since it was released on my previous macbook 13 duo core, running 10.5.8 and it's predecessors as they've been released, with NO problems.

In all honesty, I kind of feel like an idiot for ignoring my own rule, DON'T UPGRADE, until systems have been proven to work accordingly. Regardless, I sent the macbook pro back today, IMO it's pretty f#@ked to put firmware locks on your products, seems like a good way to shut off a percentage of your consumer base...

anyways, replies are appreciated in advanced, eventually I would like to get a new computer. but I think the timing is off
