Default Share your favorite sounds.

I thought it would be interesting to start a thread to discuss our favorite sounds, effects, and techniques from well-known recordings and how to recreate them. If you've been wondering how they made that cool guitar effect you heard on the radio today, please ask. If you just figured out how to recreate that Cher vocal effect that you have been tweaking with, please share.

I'll start: I have been digging the guitar effect on the opening riff of that "Disease" song by Matchbox Twenty. It sounds to me kind of like an EQ filter that is swept across different frequencies. Anyone know more specifically what effect was used?
