16x16 Analog HD I/O only syncs @ 48/96 & 192khZ

Hello,

My setup :

Mac Pro Quad core Xeon
OS 10.6.8
PT HD 10.3
PT HD2
Digidesign 96 IO (primary port) connected to the accel card
Avid HD I/O 16x16 analog (primary port) connected to the core card
Loop sync cables In -> Out and Out -> In
Digitest runs fine.

Here is the deal :
I cannot get the HD I/O 16X16 analog to be Loop Master sync at 44.1kHz - 88.2kHz ! But locks fine at 48kHz - 96 kHz...
Everything is fine at every rates when the 96 IO is Loop Master sync.

(Problem remains the same with 96 IO on Core and HD I/O on Accel card)

Any clue ? Is there an incompatibility between those

Core card > digilink to 192 HD primary port
Accel card > digilink to 96 IO primary port

Loop sync out 192. > Loop sync in 96IO > Loop sync out 96IO > Loop sync in 192

OR

Core card > digilink to 192 HD primary port > expansion port digilink to 96 IO primary port

Loop sync out 192. > Loop sync in 96IO > Loop sync out 96IO > Loop sync in 192

Use the "Identify" function in hardware setup to confirm the order is same as described

Yes, definitely Dude. The first option is mine... Except I have a Hd I/O 16x16analog instead of a 192 I/o.
That's why I guess this sync issue is not supposed to happen.

Why are they not digi linked together instead of each on it own card.
Shouldn't make any difference but with only 24 i/o they should be on the same card. Or is TDM only 16 i/o per card .

I will need to get a mini digilink adaptator to link them together via expansion port...I'll try this.

In the meantime, I still wonder if there is a known problem with that kind of configuration.

Are absolutly the same with the respect to your issue

And it would rule out a configuration problem, as well as the fact that this is only a problem With your system and is endemic to yours
