The demos are both available for download. Why not just try them yourself?

for the record, I was very un-impressed with the McDSP synth. Surprising, because I very much like colin's compressors and EQ (no comment on analog channel)

Synth-Spider is quite complicated, and I need to give it more time before I can decide. it certainly does a lot, though my main concern is with the basic sound.

I only heard the mcdsp synth at an AES show and it was a prerelease but I too was suprisingly unimpressed considering his other tools are very good.

Good news is soon (I hope) Sound Fuel (creators behind Nord) will release a TDM synth. And rumor has it the Waldorf is going to release a TDM version of the Q

The Virus ain't half bad. And the forthcoming HTDM version of the eMagic ES2 should be cool too. TDM Nord Modular - now we're talking "wish it existed".

Where did you hear about the nord. Digi has been showing the waldorf Q TDM on their tour for almost a year. Just screenshots though. Last month I contacted waldorf but it is not one of their priorities. it sounded more like it would never happen.

I said the "creators behind Nord)" not the nordlead or modular itself. Sound Fuel can be located on a link on the front page of digidesign when you go to the future HD Plug-in release schedule

As far as Waldorf..I haven't heard much about this lately either, they are releasing some way scaled down version for the powercore for sure but I was hoping we would get the full taco and I also thought it would be out about now...hopefully it hasn't been cancelled that would swallow

I've downloaded the demo and tested just the basic sound without investing too much time. all mcdsp plugins sound extremely good but the sound of synth one for me was really dissapointing.
Virus or Native Insruments synths sound way better to me.
