Re: Buffering And Ram Issues with mac mini M1, 16 Ram!
What plugins do you have installed? What plugins are in use on any track of aux? Are you using any virtual instruments? (Do they load the samples into RAM?) What buffer setting are you using? What sample rate are you using? How many tracks (audio, midi, virtual instruments, etc.)? What type of interface are you using? Are any other applications running at the same time? (Antivirus, Safari, Video, etc.)
Besides all these questions, you are aware that the M1 SOC processors are not yet certified for Protools, right? Also 16 GB or RAM is the minimum requirement and 32GB is recommended. Therefore am M1 with 16 GB has been shown to run smaller session with not too many plugins or virtual instruments.

Re: Buffering And Ram Issues with mac mini M1, 16 Ram!
Hi,
Thanks for your reply. I’m mastering one track only using UAD plugins, (which are processed externally) Sending and returning lines to SSL & Neve hardware, there are no any plugging used by my Mac processor! But, while mixing with another sessions, everything is going smoothly, all my sessions are 48, 32, 512 No other apps are running, I’m using the new Mac mini with the highest specs, installed avid plugins and 12 plugins from waves, big freq and two fabfilters only! Everything is original and there is no crack version at all. My thoughts.. the Mac mini isn’t good enough to count on for these things. |

You're probably right. Needing to go through Rosetta is probably bottlenecking something. I did read that UAD plugins are not M1 ready yet, so perhaps that (even though it uses separate processor) is suspect.

FWIW I am on a Mac mini M1 16G ram Big Sur and using UAD plugins no problem at all. Not had those error messages on anything I do.
