PTHD10 for $599 Avid Support Plan still a scam

So you pay 599.99 for Avid Support Plan. You have till the end of the year to do it. You get PTHD 10 right. Do you really think in less than a year they will come out with PT11. If not..
you have to renew for 599.99 next year..... and you still only have PTHD 10

That is 1198.98...... Avid do you really think we are that stupid???

Now if they promise PT11 before 2013 then this is a good deal, but that is why they will only allow PTHD9 users to do it by the end of the year

You could look at it that way, or you could look at it as a big improvement over the $999 upgrade they offered earlier.

1 - Anyone planning to go HDx in the near future should NOT buy this upgrade, he will get PT 10 HD for free

2 - Anyone speculating on getting PT 11 HD in the A.S.S support package purchased to get PT 10 HD is making false speculations. He NEEDs to upgrade his current HD system to HDx before he can use it... So buy 10 HD as cheap as you can and worry little about 11 HD.. Because unless you update your current HD cards you can't use it anyway !

I need some of the features now for what I do and will save me a ton of time in my day.. I got a deal though with with other purchases I made in HD IO etc. For me it was worth it. I am looking forward to getting it and trying it out on several projects. Will post as soon as I can work it into a project. G

True then why upgrade at all? 599 or 999

Why not add a Ferrari personally delivered by Max into the deal!!

I'm all for a better deal for us HD owners but which tree did you just swing down from

Anyway! HD users are being abused and have been since they gave all our features to LE users in 9 and charged HD owners for the pleasure

Would anyone what is the case with upgrading to PT10HD from 8HD while purchasing the Avid Support Plan? If I purchase the Avid Support Plan and wish to upgrade to PT10HD how much would this cost? Couldn't find any links...

I know that the official Avid line is that if one is under PT9HD and purchases the Avid Support Plan gets the upgrade to 10HD for free. But when the Avid Support was announced the online info said:

So currently, if you are on an Avid support plan, you receive a year of maintenance (tech support, etc.) and free upgrades from the time of purchase.

Now if this doesn't apply for an owner of any HD version, then that is a bit misleading, me thinks.
