Question Can't Save Preferences

When I try to record an audio signal with a microphone, an error pops up and indicates that we're having an issue with the buffer speed. I go into the preferences to change the settings, and we're unable to save or apply any changes. please advise.

WE need a little more info here. What interface?... what version of PT?... What OS?
