After some further investigation this *appears* to be due to bad installs or corrupted components.

I would strongly recommend doing a clean uninstall and reinstall, as it will likely solve the problem.

Hi, I just installed my ProTools 8 on my new MacBook Pro, and I get this error message everytime I try to open a project.

I have done a clean uninstall several times and deleted all plugins. The program starts up as usual, but then I get the error message immediately when I click "new session", "blank session" or "open session".

MacBook Pro
2.3 ghz intelcore
4 gb ram
mac os x 10.6.6
digi 003
protools 8 le

I use a FW800 to FW400 cable, could that be the problem? I asked the staff where I bought my pt and they said that it wouldn't.
