If this is only occurring with one session, it may be session corruption. Have you tried using Import Session Data to a new session?

I'm also having the same error (with 0x0 at the end).

I find that it typically happens the most when my computer goes to sleep while still in a project. When I come back to my computer and wake it up, pro tools gives me that error right away and I have to force quit. It has started to happen randomly a few times as well. I'll try to notice what I'm doing when it happens next time.

Also, I'm running a macbook pro 2.33 ghz intel with the latest OS (Leopard 10.5.6). I recently upgraded to PT 8 because I wanted to upgrade to Leopard and get more reliability with PT (go figure). And I have a DIGI 002 rack.

Please help DTS! I will be using my pro tools rig live with my group in March, and I CAN'T have this thing crash on me mid-performance.

Thanks so much!

If you want reliability, do not use sleep mode. It's not supported.

Yeah, definitely. I intend to shut it off...hell, I'll do it now.

Thanks!

Any luck on a fix for when the bus error happens at random?

We're not sure how to fix this because we don't see any specific cause at the moment.

I do have a theory this may be an issue only on system that did an upgrade from Tiger to Leopard, rather than a clean install of Leopard. Is that possibly the case on your system?

Hi DTS! It's great that you're so active in this forum. Thank you.

I'm going to have to disprove your theory...at least in my case. I did a reformatting and fresh install of Leopard. This was just a few weeks ago. I then made sure I was very careful with what I put on the system. I try to dedicate it as much to PT as possible.

Hi,

I always get the problem when trying to open a session.
Even if I try to create a new session, with or without template.
And on opening old ones.
Reinstalled twice, removed all plugins, but still same problem.
I'm realy keen on trying my new 8.0, but haven't been able to see anything.

Good luck with fixing this.

P

Same error here. Just upgraded to 8 on HD3 system & can't open a session. Really need a fix for this.

Thanks.

edit: Did a clean install of Leopard by the way due to a hard drive failure.

Mac G5 duel 2.5
8Gigs Ram
2 Raptor drives internal. 1 solely for backup.
Seperate tracking drives & storage drives.

Never had a problem until upgrade to 8.
Hope there is a fix soon cuz otherwise I just wasted my money on the upgrade as well as a bunch of plugs that are 8 compatible while losing some of my older version plugs (not 8 compatible) that are on my iLok but not being authorized when 8 first starts up..

In your case, sleep mode may be some kind of factor...

We're continuing to investigate this..
