Press PLAY and STOP button lights!

Anyone know why this would happen?
(PT8 Vista Home premium)

I'm working on a project; I press PLAY and SIMULTANEOUSLY the STOP button lights up.........I am NOT of course pressing the STOP button......... so I can't even get song to play. WTF?

And secondly.... on a different project.... the SHUFFLE button is locked and I don't know why......and can't unlock it. ???
