Well, actually, yes!

That’s why, when asked the cost, I like to start with the DAW cost, then the minimal extra costs needed, from low to high, to discuss the benefits of any additions – so compatibility is guaranteed.

Though I use other DAWS for V.I.’s, for me, Pro Tools can’t be beat for Mixing and Editing … and I’m delighted with Pro Tools Ultimate 2023.3 on my 12-yr-old (32 GB RAM) Lenovo W520, for my minimal hobby-muso needs. And the free Shutter Encoder is great!

So, when I dream about upgrading, I’m searching from Lenovo ThinkPad P Laptops through to Legion Pro ….

…. now, this is where Price suddenly leaps ^^^ into the equation …

… and when a maxed-out iPad Pro comes in cheaper …

… I’d buy one in a heart-beat (if only it came with Pro Tools!)

I don’t see any issues with throwing in the cost of hardware with the software.

There used to be a day when you couldn’t even purchase Pro Tools software separately. You had to buy the hardware to get the software. Therefore the price WAS for the hardware.

Why does everyone have to get so nasty over a simple, informative thread. If you don’t like it, don’t read it. Is it really necessary to call people names like “dolt” or “clown”? Is this grade school?
It’s seriously stuff like this that makes the DUC so infuriating at times. Just be helpful or don’t reply at all. There is really no need to be nasty to people who are simply posting something they think is informative to others.
