Default MBox 3 error/warning "Controller Personality?"
Wow...what the hell is this warning that comes up when PTLE 8.05 loads with an MBox 3? I did not get it when I had 8.04. Program still opens after I hit "OK"

"Error occurred while trying to load the controller personality "MBox 3".

I searched and found a post about a eucon error like this and it said to delete things in the Preference folder...not sure what I would delete as I do not see controller or personality in there....

I trashed all the Preferences and that did not work. I am hoping Tech Support sees this - I have not seen a post about this happening with MBox 3 and 8.05.

Deleted and then restored 8.05. Same problem. If I don't hear from Avid Support I guess I will try to go back to 8.04

I resolved this issue by going back to PTLE 8.04. Still cannot get a Hardware... dialog box to come up under the Setup Window. I reallay do not want to have to take the MBox 3 back to the store and go back to using my Digi002 or MBox 1.

I'm having the exact same issue, running on OSX 10.5.8.

Does anyone have a fix for this beyond going back to 8.0.4?

I have the same problem and have notified Sweetwater support and Avid. It's been noted and verified on Sweetwater's end - was able to reproduce the same issue after upgrading to 8.0.5. I'm just doing without using the hardware setup for now.

Yes - 8.0.4 worked perfectly. I believe it's a conflict between PT and Mac OSX - I wouldn't go taking the Mbox back. I am waiting to see if there is going to be an update to 8.0.5

Yes, I was running 8.04 again but went back to 8.05 and "can't find controller personality" is back.
