Hi,
I have PT 7.1.2 on a PC (XP w/ SP II). I was trying to pitch shift a few audio tracks (1 at a time of course) down 1/2 step & am having difficult unfortunately. Read the manual but unclear as to exactly how to modify a whole track (or many regions of audio on 1 track) by simply -1/2 step. I opened "Pitch Shift" in Audiosuite & highlit all the regions on 1 track but nothing happened. I am sure it is me & prob. very simple, but am not sure exactly what to do to shift audio - 1/2 step. Greatly asppreciate your help! Thanks.. |

You mean half a semitone? Just select the piece of audio you want to adjust (so it is highlighted), open the pitch shift plugin from the Audiosuites pull down menu. Adjust the slider that says "Cents" all the way to -50, then press "Apply" at the bottom of the plug in. That should do it a 1/2 step pressuming it is a 1/2 semitone or note that you are wanting.

I mean a full semi-tone (I believe). Tracked in G# and want to transpose it to G now.
And also, I did that (what you wrote) before I posted this (as a test) - highlit audio & opened "pitch shift", & reduced (detuned) on the bottom (with the slider) as far as it would go (-.49.0), hit Apply, & nothing was different anyhow. |

Did you have "Use in Playlist" selected?

No, I will do that (assuming THAT allocates it to the audio track). -- Actually, just tried it (going down -49 cents) & nothing changed. So I am def. confused.
And how do I detune audio or a full track (el. guitar) fully from the key of G# to G now!? And I saw a friend a ways back use Serato (which I don't have for today's use) and he transposed the entire track down at once. Do I do THAT with "Pitch Shift" in PT (detune the entire track at once), or each audio section one at a time!? Again, many thanks.. |
