Default Mbox 2 Pro - Size Matters? Or Not?

Hi All, Just popped into my local dealer to buy a much needed knew interface, namely the Firewire version of my mbox, but saw the size of it and thought better to wait for a while.
Anyone out there got one of these beauties and can persuade me to go back and buy it?

I had one for a few days, and overall, wasn't impressed enough to keep it. If your Mbox works for you, stick with it.

IMHO, of course.

Wait for something better. The MBox 2 Pro has a number of faults, and no real features that would make it attractive to anyone who already has a Protools interface. I'm holding out for the 003R. If it's not a real improvement I'm going to leave Protools.

The mBox 2 Pro can handle lower buffer settings than the mBox 2. We have tested them both here on the same machine. Playing soft syths is massively improved. Thats a real feature as far as many folks are concerned.

Thanks K Man, a bit of information that steers me back. Soft synths and their useability is very important to me.
Would you have any idea what kind of buffer i can expect with my powerbook?

To be honest...I'd be guessing. I've only tested the mBox 2 pro on a DualCore G5. All I can say, is that synths like Ivory were all but unplayable on the mBox 2, but on the Pro, I had it playing well at 256.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, If I combine that with reports of the MacIntel MacBook Pro's, it's looking better and better.
