This issue seems to be carried over from somewhere in the middle of the 6.x product life: you drag some (multichannel, at least) audio to a blank part of a track but if you have audio on either side with a lock on it (sometimes minutes away) you get this:
"The command cannot be performed because it would affect one or more regions that are currently locked." Why?! i just dragged a 5 channel file over 1 hour away from some locked regions and got this error. What the hell? (A few minutes later...) I'm starting to have my suspicions. In the Browser, the 5.0 file comes up alphabetically: filename.C.wav filename.L.wav filename.Ls.wav filename.R.wav filename.Rs.wav perhaps Pro Tools thinks that it has to re-arrange the track order within the track itself to be in correct order, thereby screwing up the existing regions on that track? I thought this because if I drag the files to the Region List, it drags in fine after that, having had sorted it's order out. is there an official explanation? this is irritating. |
